Cris Williamson is returning to IMA’s Big Barn to celebrate the 50th anniversary of her album, “The Changer and the Changed.” This special solo performance will present the album that became the soundtrack of a movement Released in 1975 on Olivia Records, an all-women’s recording company, “The Changer” holds a significant place in feminist music history and is widely regarded as a cornerstone of the women’s music movement.

NPR Music Critic Ann Powers has described the album as a work that delves into profound themes of loss, grief, and renewal. Powers suggests that the album acts as a “portal” for listeners, allowing them to journey through its emotional landscape and emerge feeling refreshed. Its lasting impact is undeniable, with Powers and other critics consistently pointing to its enduring influence on the folk, pop, and feminist music movements.
