Get your recording chops together in supportive and empowering environment.
The Studio Recording, Engineering and Producing Program is for girls and women ages 16 and up who want to gain a better understanding of the recording process from demo to final product. Students will develop skills to work in a professional studio as well as improving their home studio techniques as they acquire recording and production basics in a hands-on, deeply creative, synergetic environment.
The Session will cover:
- The basics of sound recording while working on a large format analog console and a Digital Audio Workstation
- Microphone selection and placement
- How to set up a recording space at home
- Song pre-production: finalizing the arrangement, choosing the right key and the right tempo
- How to produce a vocal session, how to sound your best, and strategies for recording back up vocals
- How to approach and record overdubs
- How to comminicate with musicians, engineers, and producers
- DAW editing skills
- Mixing basics
Build connections, collaborate with like-minded musicians and walk away with a recording you have created from scratch. Only 14 students per session.
The cost of the I.M.A. Recording, Engineering & Production Program is $1,650.00 which includes all meals and community-style housing.
If you prefer to stay off-site, the fee for the program is $1,000.00.
A non-refundable deposit of $100.00 is required to enroll in this program.

We do not require students to be vaccinated or to present a negative COVID test before registration. However, if you know you’ve been exposed to COVID, please test. Students who test positive will receive a 50% refund, and the remaining 50% can be credited towards next summer’s camp fees.
